Security forces discovered a vehicle in the south today (Thursday) morning containing numerous combat weapons. Among the weapons found were M16 rifles, ammunition, and a significant arsenal.
During a training exercise of the IDF soldiers near the "Rosh Zoher" lookout, the soldiers identified a suspicious vehicle. During the search of the car, numerous combat weapons were found. Among the weapons that were discovered were an M-16 rifle, a pistol, two fully-loaded cases of bullets with 5.56 ammunition (990 rounds each), a case of bullets containing ammunition dispersal, cash packages totaling approximately 400,000 NIS, as well as 9 M-16 magazines and ammunition components.
Earlier in the night (between Wednesday and Thursday), the security forces raided a weapons lathe in Beitunia and arrested the 26-year-old resident of the place on suspicion of trafficking in weapons and converting weapons. During the search, 3 M16 weapons, six pistols, dozens of military equipment including cartridges, night vision equipment, knives, shockers and many weapon parts were seized.
The police said that 7 lathes for the production and conversion of any weapon were also recorded at the site. IDF engineering forces destroyed the lathes and the investigation is underway. During the activity of the security forces, Arab rioters threw Molotov cocktails and stones at the soldiers.
