A short while ago, a report was received regarding a vehicular attack in the Benjamin region, during which a truck struck several civilians. Three individuals were injured, one of them critically. The condition of the other two wounded individuals is defined as severe and mild.
The assailant who carried out the attack fled towards Hashmonaim checkpoint. Security personnel from the Ministry of Defense's Crossings Authority at the Hashmonaim checkpoint were alerted by information from the IDF, identified the assailant, and neutralized him. There are no additional casualties. The Hashmonaim crossing is closed in both directions.
Magen David Adom (MDA) stated: "Paramedics from MDA are providing medical treatment and transferring three young individuals, around 20 years old, to Shaare Zedek Medical Center, Sheba Medical Center, and Assaf Harofeh Medical Center: one in critical condition with abdominal and head injuries, one in severe condition with abdominal injuries, and one in mild condition with leg injuries."
MDA paramedic Avi Schiff recounted: "We arrived with significant forces at the scene and saw three young individuals, one of whom was unconscious and suffering from injuries to the abdomen and head. Immediately, we administered life-saving medical treatment on-site and evacuated them using an intensive care ambulance to the hospital, with one in critical condition, one in severe condition, and the third in mild condition."
As reported by the Israel Police: "A short while ago, a report was received by the police regarding a vehicular attack near the Maccabim checkpoint with several casualties. The truck driver fled and was neutralized near the Hashmonaim checkpoint. Large police forces are on their way to the scene."
