The Israel Land Authority destroyed a water sports complex that was built without a permit and took over a section of the northern promenade of Tiberias.
Inspectors of the Northern District of the Israel Land Authority, in cooperation with the police of the Northern District and the Israel Police's MATPA department, today (Wednesday) carried out an administrative demolition order issued against a complex for water sports and a private beach that were built without a permit, on the Sea of Galilee, located on the northern side of Tiberias.
This involves the takeover of a section of the northern promenade of Tiberias, adjacent to the fishing pier, and its conversion into a private beach and a water sports facility. This is in contradiction to an agreement signed between the facility operator and the Tiberias Municipality. The agreement was canceled by the municipality due to violations.
This action adds to a series of other actions taken by the Israel Land Authority's enforcement division, in collaboration with the Israel Police, in recent times in the area, aimed at combating unauthorized construction, violations, and unpermitted use along the coastal environment.
The Israel Land Authority's enforcement division will continue, in collaboration and coordination with parallel legal authorities, to combat violations of planning and construction laws around the Sea of Galilee and throughout the country. This will be done through comprehensive and environmental enforcement that safeguards the natural resources for the Israeli citizens.
