The pursuit after the assailant from the attack in Huwara continues, as security forces operated last night (Saturday) in the village of Akraba, south of Nablus, and arrested two suspects involved in the attack in which Shai Negarkar and his son Aviad from Ashdod were murdered. According to reports in the Palestinian media, the two detainees are a father and son – Issa and Mahmad Bani Fazil.

It has been further reported that during the night, checkpoints were set up between the neighboring towns and Akraba. Searches were conducted, and surveillance camera footage from the area was collected. According to Palestinians, the village is being operated as a "closed military zone," and the activity continues in the region.

As mentioned, the shooting attack occurred yesterday during the afternoon hours. Preliminary investigation of the attack suggests that Shai and Aviad Negarkar, residents of Ashdod, arrived in the village of Huwara for errands in the morning. At around 3:00 PM, they washed their car at a car wash, when an Arab assailant identified them as Israelis, drew a handgun, shot both of them from a short range, and then confirmed their deaths. On Saturdays, there are fewer soldiers present on the Huwara route, and the soldiers stationed in positions did not hear the gunshots due to the noise from the car wash.
