Since last night (Tuesday), there has been a malfunction in the electricity supply in the Machane Yehuda market in Jerusalem. Upon receiving the report, electric company personnel arrived at the scene to restore the electricity supply to the merchants. Several faults were discovered on-site, including electrical panels obstructed by merchandise from the market stalls and problematic accessibility.
The electric company notes that it was not feasible to deploy a generator due to terrain conditions. Additionally, during cable inspection by the electric company, additional infrastructure was found. Since morning hours, they have been continuing with excavation and repair of at least 4 cables that were found damaged. One cable has already been fixed, and partial electricity has been restored. According to their statement, "Initial estimates indicate that all cable repairs will likely be completed in the early afternoon. The electric company is in contact with the merchants' representatives and apologizes for the inconvenience. As mentioned, field teams are doing everything possible to provide regular electricity supply."
