More than 500 dunams were devastated by a fire that broke out in the late afternoon hours of Monday in the Pyrenees mountains in southern France.

Close to 650 firefighters and significant aerial resources were mobilized to combat the forest fire that broke out in the San Andrés region. More than 3,000 people were forced to evacuate from various camping sites due to the rapid spread of the flames, and emergency accommodation rooms were opened for those fleeing the fire. "The situation was delicate due to intense heat and gusty winds of up to 80 kilometers per hour," reported the firefighting center.

Furthermore, they add that there have been no reports of casualties among the civilian population, but 17 firefighters sustained minor injuries from smoke inhalation.

This morning (Tuesday), control over the fire was achieved as mentioned, which had consumed 500 dunams of forests and four camping sites.
