Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu postponed his planned vacation with his wife Sara in Moshav Ramot near the Sea of Galilee, which was supposed to start this evening (Sunday). An official reason for the postponement was not given, but those around the prime minister claim that the postponement is due to Netanyahu's necessary work meetings that forced the postponement of the vacation.
The postponement of Netanyahu's vacation comes against the background of the planned protest by the opponents of the legal reform in the moshav, similar to the demonstrations that took place when the Netanyahus were on vacation in Neve Ativ last week. Before the visit, the residents of the moshav feared the blockade of the settlement following the protests, and even warned of possible economic damage to the residents' livelihoods.
"Moshav Ramot is an agricultural settlement in which five packinghouses are built. We are in the midst of picking mangoes, which is the main source of income for the settlement," said a letter sent to the Personal Security Unit, the Israel Police and the Prime Minister's Office. "The picking and the activity of the packing houses cannot tolerate any delay in the current activity that may be caused by the blocking of the access roads to the plantations and the packing houses."
