An explosion of artillery was heard in the area of the Shaked settlement in northern Samaria. Initially, it was suspected to be another rocket launch from Jenin towards the Israeli communities. However, after an inspection, it was determined that it was "only" an explosive device that detonated on the separation barrier.
The IDF stated: "An explosive device detonated in Palestinian territory a short while ago, near the separation barrier adjacent to the village of Arraqa within the Menashe Brigade's area. There are no casualties and no damage caused. This is not a rocket launch."
In recent months, militants have launched at least 3 rockets from the Jenin area. These are primitive rockets that do not carry an explosive warhead and have not caused any damage. However, the experiments and intention to establish a rocket front in the Judea and Samaria region are deeply concerning to the security forces.
The Jenin district is once again in turmoil after a relative calm since "Operation Bayit VaGan". On Saturday, a terrorist from Jenin carried out a deadly attack in Tel Aviv, where he shot and killed Chen Amir HY"D, a security patrol officer of the municipality. Chen recognized the terrorist, who shot him, and his fellow patrol shot the terrorist to death.
Yesterday, in the late afternoon hours, Israel's National Counter Terror Unit eliminated three terrorists who were on their way to carry out a shooting attack on the outskirts of Jenin. The unit positioned itself near the vehicle and opened fire with a significant number of rounds until the three terrorists, who were members of the Islamic Jihad organization, were neutralized.
