Syrian media reported this morning (Monday) that Israel attacked targets in the Damascus area during the night, as, according to them, anti-aircraft defense systems were activated and intercepted several missiles. According to military sources, 4 Syrian soldiers were killed and 4 others were injured in the attack.

"Around 02:20 AM early this morning, the Israeli enemy initiated an aerial attack from the direction of the Golan Heights, targeting several objectives in the vicinity of the city of Damascus," said the Assad army. "Syrian air defense systems intercepted Israeli missiles and downed some of them. In the attack, four soldiers were killed and four others were injured, and equipment damage was also caused."

This is the first reported attack in Syria attributed to Israel since July 19th, when it was claimed that Israel targeted several objectives in the Damascus area. According to estimates, the attack in July was aimed at military sites and weapons depots of one of Hezbollah's brigades in Damascus.
