The Minister of Information, Galit Distel-Atbaryan, strongly criticized the judges of the Supreme Court, following the hearing held today (Thursday) regarding the petition demanding the cancellation of The Incapacity Law.
Distel wrote on her personal Twitter account: "In these very minutes, a small group of people who were not chosen by anyone at the ballot box, are discussing whether it is worth canceling the election results of millions of people, without anyone giving them the authority to do so."
Distel added: "If you have a problem with the concept, then you are the enemies of democracy. Israel 2023."
After that, the Minister of Transportation, Miri Regev, commented on the dramatic discussion in the court and stung the judges: "Today we will know if 3 judges will throw away the democracy in Israel."
As mentioned, at this hour, President Esther Hayut and the judges, Yitzhak Amit and Uzi Fogelman, are deliberating on an appeal submitted by the Movement for the Quality of Government and Member of Knesset Oded Forer from Israel Beitenu. The petitioners argue that the "Incapacity Law," enacted as an amendment to the Basic Law: "The Government," significantly changes the procedure for sending the Prime Minister to trial and essentially serves as a personal law for Netanyahu following his trial, exploiting the Knesset mechanism for his benefit.
