Another shooting incident in the United States: Local police arrested a suspect last night (Tuesday) who attempted to break into the Jewish school in Memphis, Tennessee, and fired shots towards the entrance after failing to enter the building. The suspect was apprehended after a chase during which the officers shot at him and wounded him severely.
According to reports in the local media, the shooter was a former student at the Jewish school, who suffers from mental health issues. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene in his car, and the police forces initiated a pursuit and set up roadblocks in nearby streets. Upon reaching a roadblock, the suspect exited the vehicle while holding a handgun in his hand, and the officers fired shots at him. It was also stated that the officer who fired the shots will be investigated.
Deputy Chief of the Memphis Police Department, Don Crowe, said that the circumstances of the event are still under investigation, and at this stage, it is too early to determine if it was a hate crime. However, it appears that the suspect intended to harm people. He added, "We are proud of our officers who managed to apprehend him and protect the civilians."
