Left-wing protesters and opponents of judicial reform dispersed from their demonstration around the Knesset after the passage of the approval of limiting the clause of reasonability. They then proceeded to block Givat Binyamin Road in the capital. The Commissioner ordered the police to disperse them and reopen the road for traffic.
According to the police, after the passage of the controversial law, protesters began marching towards Givat Binyamin Road and proceeded to block the road between Kiryat Moshe Interchange and Givat Mordechai Interchange in both directions. They also used objects and tree branches from the surrounding area to obstruct the road in their presence.
As the protesters did not comply with police instructions, the demonstration was declared as a breach of public order, and the Commissioner ordered them to disperse and reopen the road. The police are using means to disperse the protesters and may use reasonable force if necessary to clear the road and ensure its accessibility for civilian traffic.
Currently, there are significant traffic congestion and a heightened police presence in the area. Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible.
