Columbia students blame Columbia for Mahmoud Khalil's detention
Of course, the protesters neglected to mention or care about why Khalil was actually detained.

Several Columbia University students chained themselves to a campus gate yesterday, protesting the detention of Mahmoud Khalil by ICE.
The students gathered outside St. Paul’s Chapel, and demanded that the university reveal which trustee reported Khalil to authorities (which is also strange, because there is a lot of footage of him at the anti-Israel protests and in the encampment).
The Columbia Palestine Solidarity Committee stated on X, “We will not leave until our demand is met. FREE MAHMOUD KHALIL. NAME THE TRUSTEE. Jewish students will remain chained to the campus gates until Columbia University is held accountable.”
After around two hours, Columbia’s public safety officers removed the chains and escorted four students off campus, a university spokesperson told Fox News Digital. “They violated conduct rules but provided identification,” the spokesperson said, noting an ongoing review process.
The group then linked arms outside the gate, vowing to stay until Columbia names the trustee involved, according to the Columbia Daily Spectator. The university responded, “No member of our leadership or board of trustees has ever requested ICE agents on or near campus for actions against students or community members.” They added that law enforcement requires a judicial warrant to access non-public areas, per standard policy.
About 80 protesters rallied near the gate, some hanging a banner from an overpass reading, “Free Mahmoud Khalil. Name the trustees,” the New York Police Department told Fox News. Khalil, a prominent leader in Columbia’s anti-Israel encampment last spring, was detained by ICE in New York City in early March.
What's interesting is that they are blaming the University, and not taking note of the Trump administrations blatant no tolerance policy for terror supporters and antisemites. Ironically, it was Columbia University that took little action against the same behavior, but they are the ones being blamed for Khalil's detention.
