Footage of the incident showed protesters entering the Oculus at the World Trade Center complex, waving Palestinian flags while chanting slogans such as “While you’re shopping, bombs are dropping” and “NYPD, KKK, IOF—they’re all the same.”

New York City has become a hotspot for anti-Israel demonstrations over the past several days. Just a day before the World Trade Center protest, hundreds of individuals flooded Times Square, blaming Israel for the collapse of the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Protests have grown increasingly intense, with masked individuals carrying Hamas flags and confronting pro-Israel counter-protesters, who displayed images of hostages still being held in Gaza.

On Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a series of precision strikes on Hamas terrorist infrastructure in Gaza, after receiving intelligence indicating that the group was preparing new attacks on Israeli civilians. The strikes mark a decisive escalation in Israel’s ongoing battle against Hamas. In response, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt voiced strong support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions, warning that Hamas and its allies would face severe consequences. Leavitt stated, "President Trump has made it clear: Hamas, the Houthis, Iran, all those who seek to terrorize not just Israel but the United States of America, will see a price to pay."

The latest military actions have deepened fears among the families of the 24 hostages believed to still be alive, with many expressing concern over the fate of their loved ones. The Hostages Families Forum issued a statement saying, “The greatest fear of the families, the hostages, and the citizens of Israel has come true. The Israeli government chose to give up on the hostages. We are shocked, furious, and terrified by the intentional shattering of the process to return our loved ones from the terrible Hamas captivity.”

The ongoing protests and military actions highlight the growing tensions between the factions and the wider global implications of the conflict.
