Who crashed X? Here are some possible answers

The crashing of major social media site X, formerly Twitter, has some looking for answers as to how and why the site crashed - and more importantly, who.

X, formerly Twitter, one of the most widely used social media platforms in the world, crashed repeatedly today (Monday), leaving many wondering how and why the usually smoothly functioning site ceased to function.

X owner Elon Musk posted on the site after it went back up that:

There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against đť•Ź.

We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources.

Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved.

Musk later alleged that the attack came from Ukraine, a country he has repeatedly criticized for refusing to negotiate peace with Russia on President Donald Trump's terms, though others argue Ukraine has nothing to gain from such an attack and that IP addresses are easily masked.

According to media watcher Ali Express, a group of hackers known as Dark Storm Team took responsibility for taking down X multiple times. A group of the same name reportedly attacked Israeli sites out of pro-Hamas and pro-Palestinian motives.

According to Times Now, OSINT researcher Jay Anderson claimed to identify the DDOS attack conducted by the team on the X platform after the attack was over:
