Hamas Official Claims Secret $10 Billion Kushner Offer to Sinwar for Statehood

Shocking claims: Did Jared Kushner offer Hamas $10 Billion for Palestinian statehood?

In a recent interview with MEMRI, Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi claimed that Jared Kushner, during President Donald Trump's first term, offered Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar $10 billion and the lifting of the Gaza siege in exchange for Hamas agreeing to limited statehood.

According to Mardawi, the deal would have involved Sinwar becoming the president of a “Palestinian state in Gaza,” while abandoning claims to the rest of Palestine. Additionally, Hamas would have been required to surrender its heavy rockets as a precursor to future negotiations.

However, these claims have not been confirmed by U.S. or Israeli officials, and the situation remains unclear. At the same time, plans are being developed to rebuild Gaza, which has been devastated by years of conflict. Steve Witkoff, the current Middle East envoy, alongside Kushner, has been working with a coalition of real estate executives to tackle Gaza's reconstruction.

Witkoff recently spoke at a Saudi-sponsored FII Priority conference in Miami, describing the dire conditions in Gaza. "There are 30,000 unexploded shells all over there," Witkoff said, referring to the extensive damage the region has endured. He also expressed disbelief at the difficult living conditions in the area, saying, "I don’t know why anyone would want to live there today. It’s illogical to me."

Sources close to the matter revealed that the conference would address the practical challenges of clearing debris, detecting bombs, dealing with Hamas’s terror tunnels, and relocating the millions of people in Gaza. These efforts are part of Trump’s broader plans to tackle the region’s challenges, including the possible relocation of Gaza’s population to neighboring Arab nations—an idea that has been met with strong resistance from both Middle Eastern governments and European diplomats, who have condemned it as “ethnic cleansing.”

While Kushner is no longer directly involved in policymaking, reports suggest that he continues to advise from the private sector.
