BREAKING: Mass shooting in German town of Bielefeld
This is a developing story. We will post more details as they become available.

Reports emerged of gunfire outside a courthouse in Bielefeld, Germany. This incident occurred during the trial of Hüseyin Akkurt, who is accused of murdering professional boxer Besar Nimani. Besar Nimani, a 38-year-old boxer, was killed in March of the previous year while dining at an outdoor café in Germany, in what some sources suggest was an underworld-related attack.
Hüseyin Akkurt was arrested in Brussels, Belgium, in July 2024, with support from Belgian authorities, while a second suspect, Ayman Dawoud Kirit, remains at large.
The shooting outside the courthouse reportedly took place around 1:30 PM local time, shortly after the trial session concluded for the day. Local police have launched a major operation in response, and there are indications that multiple people may have been injured.
Some reports, including from German media like Neue Westfälische, suggest that the defendant’s father and brother were among those shot, though official confirmation from police is still pending as of the latest updates.
