In a highly anticipated and symbolic meeting at the White House, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented President Donald Trump with a golden pager—an extraordinary gesture reflecting Israel’s covert operation against Hezbollah in September 2024. This operation, led by Israeli intelligence agencies, was a strategic success, disrupting Hezbollah’s communications and causing significant casualties among the group’s operatives in Lebanon.

The golden pager gifted to Trump mirrored the ones used in the Israeli intelligence-led sabotage mission. These pagers were rigged with explosives, and when detonated simultaneously, they dealt a major blow to Hezbollah’s network, showcasing the Mossad's critical role in executing the operation.

In response, Trump expressed his admiration for the operation, calling it a “grand operation.” As a token of appreciation, he gifted Netanyahu a signed photograph from their meeting, inscribed with the words: “To Bibi, a great leader.” This exchange was more than a mere ceremonial gesture—it symbolized the growing collaboration between the two leaders on security and defense matters.

While the exchange of gifts was symbolic, the meeting also addressed serious regional issues. Netanyahu and Trump discussed key topics, including the ongoing conflict in Gaza, strategies for the release of Israeli hostages, and ways to counter Iranian aggression. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to Israel’s security, with Netanyahu expressing gratitude for Trump’s unwavering support.

The talks were reportedly positive and productive, with Israeli politicians hailing the meeting as a tremendous success. One source close to the Prime Minister's delegation noted that the visit “exceeded all our expectations and dreams.”

In a notable moment, Trump voiced his concerns about Israel’s political climate, discussing the so-called “deep state” in the U.S. and its Israeli counterpart. He criticized the ongoing legal battles Netanyahu faced while managing a war that is reshaping the Middle East.

The meeting lasted five hours, culminating in a warm and relaxed dinner. Trump’s invitation for Netanyahu to be the first foreign leader to visit during his second term reflected his continued commitment to Israel, as highlighted by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. She emphasized that the invitation demonstrated the President’s dedication to ensuring the safe return of Israeli hostages.

This historic encounter reinforced the bond between the two nations and set the stage for further cooperation in securing the region’s stability.
