At least 10 people were killed and 32 injured in a fire that broke out on Tuesday night at a hotel on the site. According to local media reports, two of the victims jumped out of the windows of the burning building and were killed.
The fire broke out at around 2:00 a.m. in the hotel restaurant and quickly spread throughout the building. Fire and rescue forces were called to the scene and evacuated about 230 guests from the hotel.
Located about 300 km east of Istanbul, Kartalkaya Resort is considered one of the most popular tourist destinations in Turkey during the winter season. The circumstances of the fire are still being investigated.
