The poll, conducted by JPPI researchers Shmuel Rosner and Nachum Selakoff with oversight from Professor David Steinberg, revealed that 77% of Jewish Israelis trust Trump to manage the relationship between the United States and Israel. However, the survey also highlighted a notable political divide on his performance, with 61% of Israelis expressing at least some level of satisfaction with Trump’s return to office. On the other hand, 28% voiced dissatisfaction, according to Jerusalem post reports on the survey.
When it comes to Trump’s approach to Iran, trust among Israelis is much lower. Only 20% of respondents expressed strong trust in his Iran policy, while 44% reported moderate trust, and 27% said they had no trust at all in his handling of the issue. This reflects a divergence of opinion, particularly among right-leaning Israelis, who showed overwhelming support for Trump, with 96% expressing satisfaction. By contrast, only 24% of left-leaning Israelis shared the same sentiment.
The survey also uncovered interesting differences between Jewish Israelis and American Jews. While 77% of Israeli Jews trust Trump to manage US-Israel relations, only 54% of American Jews agreed. The disparity highlights the varying perspectives of Jewish communities in Israel and the United States.
Furthermore, the survey revealed low levels of trust in Trump’s handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Only 13% of Israelis expressed high trust in his ability to manage this issue, while 43% reported moderate trust, and 34% indicated no trust in his approach.
Additionally, the survey touched on Israeli Arabs’ views on Trump, with 32% expressing satisfaction with his presidency and 43% voicing dissatisfaction.
The complete results and further breakdown of the survey will be released in the coming days. The JPPI, based in Jerusalem, is a global think tank dedicated to ensuring the long-term thriving of Jewish culture and supporting Jewish communities worldwide.
