An incoming White House official told Reuters today (Monday) that President-elect Donald Trump will sign an executive order ending DEI programs and officially recognizing only male and female as sexes.

This executive order is one of several planned to eliminate what the right has called radical "woke" ideology with its progressive views on gender and race and its insistence on viewing all aspects of federal government policy through the lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion or DEI. The federal government will also cease pushing "gender ideology" in its departments.

Trump also plans on using executive orders to greatly increase America's energy production, rolling back a series of increasingly restrictive executive orders signed by outgoing President Joe Biden which restricted or banned oil exploration and extraction in areas throughout the United States and in its territorial waters. He also seeks to end wind energy farms, which Biden sought to expand wherever possible.

In an effort to crack down on illegal immigration, one of his signature promises during the 2016 and 2024 elections, Trump seeks to entirely suspend or roll back the expansion of refugee and asylum programs greatly expanded under the Biden administration and which many on the right complain have been abused to allow a flood of economic migrants.

Trump also intends, more controversially, to sign an order ending birthright citizenship, a long-standing legal interpretation of the 14th amendment to the constitution which states that anyone who is born on American soil, regardless of the status of the parents, immediately becomes a citizen.

According to the BBC, Trump also plans to create DOGE or the Department of Government Efficiency, an Elun Musk brainchild aimed at eliminating government waste and saving money, the jumpstarting of artificial intelligence efforts, and the streamlining of environmental review for many construction projects in a variety of fields.
