Trump Faces Growing Pressure from Hostage Families running up to January 20

Families of US Hostages to Attend Trump’s Inauguration, Push for Their Release

The families of the seven American citizens still held hostage in Gaza have announced they will attend the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump on January 20. During the event, the families plan to meet with Trump administration officials and members of Congress to discuss efforts to secure the release of the hostages, according to The Times of Israel.

The seven Americans still in captivity are Edan Alexander, Itay Chen, Keith Siegel, Omer Neutra, Judi Weinstein Haggai, and Sagui Dekel-Chen. Four of these individuals—Edan Alexander, Itay Chen, Sagui Dekel-Chen, and Keith Siegel—are believed to still be alive.

In a recent press conference at Mar-a-Lago, Trump addressed the ongoing hostage crisis. Asked about the situation, which also involves 100 Israeli hostages held by Hamas and other terrorists, he issued a stern warning: “If they’re not back by the time I get into office, all hell will break out in the Middle East.”

Trump reaffirmed his previous threats regarding the issue, stating, “It will not be good for Hamas, and it will not be good, frankly, for anyone. All hell will break out. I don’t have to say anymore, but that’s what it is.”

The President-elect also reflected on the October 7 attack, adding, “They should have given them back a long time ago, and they should have never taken them. There should have never been the attack on October 7th. People forget that. But there was, and many people are killed—they’re no longer hostages.”

Trump also shared that numerous parents of hostages had approached him for help in retrieving the bodies of their children, underscoring the urgency of resolving the situation. He concluded, “If the deal isn’t done before I take office, which is now gonna be two weeks, all hell will break out in the Middle East.”
