The Kazakh government and media have managed to gather much more information on the Azerbaijan Airlines crash in the country earlier today (Wednesday). Here's what we know for now, according to Tengri News.

The plane left Baku to go to Grozny in Russia controlled Chechnya, but was forced to divert - first to Makhachkala and then to Aktau - due to heavy fog over Grozny.

Two possible causes have been identified - either the plane colliding with a flock of birds, or an oxygen tank exploding within the plane. Neither have been officially confirmed.

There were 67 passengers on board the plane, including five crew members. 29 survived the crash, "including citizens of Azerbaijan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan." Many of these are injured, some critically.

The plane's black box has been recovered, and the government of Kazakhstan has announced the formation of an interministerial team to investigate the causes of the crash.
