U.S. President-elect Donald Trump announced Saturday night that he would not appoint former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley to any posts.
Trump wrote on his social network: "I will not invite Haley or Pompeo to join the administration that is currently under construction. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with them in the past and appreciated them, and I want to thank them for their service to our country."
Nikki Haley wrote in response to Trump's announcement: "I have been proud to work with President Trump to defend America at the United Nations. I wish him, and all those who serve, great success in advancing us to a stronger and safer America for the next four years."
The electoral map for the 2024 election is now complete: Donald Trump has had the best results for Republican candidate since George H.W. Bush in 1988.
