President Isaac Herzog responded to the violent events against Maccabi Tel Aviv fans in Amsterdam last night: "This morning we saw shocking images and videos that we hoped not to see again since October 7, of the anti-Semitic pogrom taking place at this hour against Maccabi Tel Aviv fans and Israeli citizens in the heart of Amsterdam, Netherlands."

According to him, "This is a serious event that serves as a warning sign for any country wishing to uphold its values. I trust the cooperation that is currently taking place between the governments. The authorities in the Netherlands must act immediately and take all necessary measures to protect, locate, and rescue all attacked Israelis and Jews, and to eradicate all violence against Jewish and Israeli citizens by any means necessary."

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister spoke a few minutes ago with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, and emphasized the utmost importance of the Dutch government ensuring the safety of all Israelis in the Netherlands, including the injured and affected by the events.

Netanyahu also noted that he views the planned anti-Semitic attack against Israeli citizens with severity and requested to increase security for the Jewish community in the Netherlands. Prime Minister Netanyahu thanked the Prime Minister of the Netherlands for expressing shock at last night's events and for stating that it was an exceptional incident of an anti-Semitic nature.

According to the Prime Minister's directive, planes are currently making their way from Israel to repatriate citizens, including the injured. From the moment the disturbances broke out, the Prime Minister maintained direct contact with the Foreign Minister and his military secretary, receiving regular updates on the situation and monitoring the implementation of his instructions.
