Body of Phillipine, missing female student found buried in Paris Forest - Moroccan fugitive arrested 

Suspect convicted of rape was under expulsion order; haunting crime horrifies France

A female student's lifeless body was found buried in the Bois de Boulogne, in the west of Paris, on Saturday. The suspect is a Moroccan national, already sentenced to 7 years in prison for rape in 2019. He was released at the beginning of September.

Philippine, was a 19-year-old student; her lifeless body was discovered buried on Saturday in the park.

The suspect, named Taha O., was arrested in Geneva by local police officers. A request for extradition to France will be sent to the Swiss authorities, the Paris prosecutor's office told Le Figaro. The suspect was already known to the French justice services and was subject to an OQTF (Obligation to leave French territory) with a ban on returning to France for 10 years.

According to our information, Taha O. is a Moroccan national, born in 2002 in the city of Oujda, Morocco. He entered France from Spain on June 13, 2019 on a tourist visa, at the age of 17.

The victim, named Philippine and 19 years old, was a student at the University of Paris-Dauphine. His body was found buried during a hunt on Saturday afternoon. It was his family who reported him missing.

The student was last seen Friday at lunchtime at the university. Philippine was also filmed by CCTV cameras walking towards the Bois de Boulogne after her lunch, according to our information.

An investigation for voluntary homicide has been opened and entrusted to the criminal brigade of the Paris judicial police.
