Anthony Guglielmi, Spokesperson for the Secret Service, said just now on X (Sunday) that the agency is investigating a "protective incident" involving former President Trump and shots fired in his vicinity, and that they were working with local authorities on the matter.

The Trump campaign just said that the former President and Republican nominee is safe following gunshots in his vicinity.

Steven Cheung, the Trump Campaign Communications Director, said there were "no further details at this time."

It is not clear if the gunshots were another attempt on Trump's life or simply an unlucky encounter.

Law enforcement sources speaking with the New York Post say that the gunshots were people firing at each other rather than Trump, and that the former President himself was never in danger.
