Elon Musk made a striking offer to Taylor Swift following her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris, posting on social media Tuesday night.
“Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life,” Musk, 53, wrote on X, addressing Swift’s “childless cat lady” comment from her Instagram post. The post was seen by his 197 million followers and sparked widespread confusion about whether Musk was offering to father a child himself or merely to give her one of his 12 children.
Swift, 34, had endorsed Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election, expressing her belief in their leadership. Her post included a photo of her with one of her cats and was a response to controversial remarks by Republican VP candidate JD Vance, which many saw as disparaging to women without children.
Musk's peculiar offer quickly gained attention, with his post amassing nearly 50 million views and a flood of comments criticizing the message. “This tweet just takes things to a whole new level of strange. It’s not even eccentric at this point, just outright unsettling,” remarked one user, while another simply said, “Taylor wants precisely zero to do with you.”
