Overnight, more than 140 Ukrainian drones targeted several Russian regions, including Moscow and its surrounding areas, marking one of the most significant drone assaults on Russian soil in the two-and-a-half-year conflict, according to Russian officials on Tuesday.
In Ramenskoye, a town just outside Moscow, the drones struck two multistory residential buildings, igniting fires. Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported that a woman was killed and three others were injured. Additionally, five nearby residential buildings were evacuated as emergency services worked to clear drone debris.
The attack led to the temporary closure of three airports near Moscow—Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky. Russia’s civil aviation authority, Rosaviatsia, confirmed that 48 flights were diverted to other airports due to the disruption.
