A suspected terrorist, captured on security cameras carrying a Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) flag, set at least two vehicles on fire at the entrance to the Beth Yaacov synagogue in La Grande-Motte, France.

One of the vehicles contained a gas canister, causing both vehicles to explode, with the flames reaching the doors of the synagogue.

A police officer was injured in the incident and was evacuated to a hospital; his condition is not life-threatening.

French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced that the explosion is being investigated as a terror attack.
