Florida Democratic Representative Jared Moskowitz alleged that Iran is funding the large-scale protests at the Democratic National Convention in a statement to The Daily Mail on Monday.

"Everyone has a right to protest, but there are also professional agitators involved," Moskowitz told The Daily Mail. "We know that the Iranians are paying people to do this. Why are they only protesting at this convention and not at others? This seems to be an extension of the campus protests."

On Monday, dozens of protesters breached part of the security perimeter around the DNC, prompting a response from riot police, according to a Reuters Television witness. CNN later reported that four protesters were arrested and another detained.
