A young ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) man was stabbed early Saturday morning by a stranger shouting "Free Palestine" near the Chabad Headquarters in Crown Heights, as confirmed by Chabad Lubavitch.

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. local time near Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue, according to COLlive, a Chabad publication.

The attacker, described as a black male in his early 20s, reportedly asked the victim, "Do you want to die?" before launching the assault. Thankfully, the victim is expected to recover thanks to the prompt action of paramedics and the nature of the injury.

Yaacov Behrman, who manages PR for Chabad, noted that local residents successfully detained the suspect until police arrived and made the arrest.
