Report: US More Concerned About Hezbollah Attack Than Iranian One
The US is increasingly worried about a potential Hezbollah attack in response to the assassination of its senior official, Fuad Shukr, rather than a direct Iranian retaliation for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, CNN reported on Tuesday.

According to US and Western intelligence officials, while Iranian preparations for an attack on Israel are evident and an attack is expected in the coming days, the exact nature of the attack and the level of coordination between Iran and Hezbollah remain unclear.
There is speculation that Hezbollah might act independently, with Iran choosing not to carry out a direct attack on Israel. This report follows a Wall Street Journal article stating that Iran has recently moved missile launchers and conducted military drills, suggesting preparations for an imminent attack.
US officials also expressed concern that if Iran does attack, it might be accompanied by actions from Hezbollah and other Iranian proxies to overwhelm Israel's defences.
Hezbollah reportedly has an arsenal of about 150,000 rockets and missiles, including precision-guided weapons capable of striking anywhere in Israel.
