A day after it occurred, Vice President Kamala Harris' National Security Adviser Phil Gordon stated today (Sunday) that she "condemns this horrific attack and mourns for all those killed and wounded."

In a thread posted on X, Gordon also said that "Israel continues to face severe threats to its security, and Harris' support for Israel’s security is ironclad. The U.S. will continue working on a diplomatic solution to end all attacks once and for all, and allow citizens on both sides of the border to safely return home."

The American National Security Council also released a statement today placing the blame for the Majdal Shams massacre squarely on Hezbollah and emphasizing America's desire to bring about a diplomatic end to the border war.

In the statement, released by US NSC Spokesperson Adrienne Watson said that "This attack was conducted by Lebanese Hezbollah. It was their rocket, and launched from an area they control. It should be universally condemned."

Watson then went on to reiterate America's unwavering support for Israeli security while "working on a diplomatic solution along the Blue Line that will end all attacks once and for all, and allow citizens on both sides of the border to safely return to their homes."
