With the the European football championship now over in Germany, the world is already looking forward to the next big sporting event - the Olympics in Paris, which will open next weekend (July 26).

Unlike cities that hosted the Olympics in the past, this year much of the focus is on the security side of the most touristic and busiest city in the world. During the Olympics, no less than 16 million tourists are expected to visit Paris.

Meanwhile, for some time now the law and security authorities in the city have been on heightened alert and are doing everything to prevent extreme security incidents.

Many demonstrations have been taking place in Paris recently and many warnings about attacks have reached the security centers, this against the background of the tense elections in the country and the war between Israel and Hamas that is causing echoes all over the world, including the French capital.
