King Charles and Queen Camilla were abruptly rushed out of a royal engagement on Monday due to a security scare. The 75-year-old monarch and his 76-year-old wife were visiting Jersey as part of their two-day Channel Islands tour when their outing was suddenly cut short over safety concerns.
In the midst of a conversation with a local business owner, they were quickly ushered into the nearby Pomme d’Or hotel by their security team.
Personal protection officers subtly indicated to their team that the royals should be evacuated at once. The perceived threat was thought to be a drone, but reports have yet to be confirmed.
