Donald Trump made a triumphant entrance at the Republican National Convention's first night on Monday, earning a raucous ovation from supporters just two days after a would-be assassin's bullet grazed his right ear.
Walking into the Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee with a thick bandage over his ear, Trump was met with chants of 'Fight! Fight! Fight!' and fist pumps from the crowd, referencing his reaction after the attack.
The former president appeared emotional as he stood in a box with his family and Senator J.D. Vance, his choice for running mate announced earlier in the day.
Trump did not deliver remarks at the convention.
Earlier in the day, he was officially named the Republican nominee for president after being nominated by more than 1,215 GOP delegates during a roll call vote of state delegations. Shortly before the vote, Trump announced on Truth Social that he had selected Vance as his VP pick.
