This is who Trump chose as his Vice President

Donald Trump has selected Ohio Senator J.D. Vance as his running mate and Vice Presidential candidate for the upcoming presidential election. The former President made this announcement on Monday at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

Trump announced on his Truth Social account, "After careful consideration and weighing the talents of many individuals, I have decided that Senator J.D. Vance from Ohio is the best choice to serve as Vice President of the United States. J.D. has served our country honourably in the Marine Corps, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio State University in just two years, and holds a degree from Yale Law School where he served as Editor of The Yale Law Journal and President of the Yale Law Veterans Association."

"J.D.’s book, 'Hillbilly Elegy,' became a bestseller and a movie, highlighting the hardworking men and women of our nation. He has enjoyed a successful career in technology and finance, and during the campaign, he will strongly advocate for the American workers and farmers across Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and beyond," Trump added.

This announcement follows an incident two days ago where Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump was shot in the ear, narrowly avoiding a fatal injury when he turned his head just before the gunman opened fire.

One civilian was killed and two others critically injured in the shooting. The assailant was shot and killed by Secret Service snipers.
