NBC News reported today (Monday) that the Biden administration is looking into arriving at a separate deal with Hamas to free the five American hostages being held in the Gaza Strip if current cease-fire talks fail.

The deal would take place through Qatari mediation and would likely also include an effort to repatriate three US hostages who are known to have been killed by Hamas.

The five Americans currently believed to be alive and held hostage in Gaza are Edan Alexander, Sagui Dekel-Chen, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Omer Neutra, and Keith Siegel.
