20 people have been arrested in connection with the terrorist attack on the US embassy in Lebanon, when a Syrian man fired "small arms fire" on the building, according to a Lebanese judicial source speaking with AFP, per the Lebanese news portal Naharnet.

Per the source, "Among those arrested are his father, his brother, clerics who gave him religious lessons and those with whom he was in continuous contact," and that "this includes the Syrian assailant Qais Farraj, who is receiving care at the military hospital in Beirut."

According to the source, it does not appear that the terrorist acted in any organized capacity despite having reportedly worn ISIS insignia, and that he was motivated by the condition of the Palestinians in Gaza.
