While many countries including China, India, and others sent their condolences to Iran today (Monday) over the death of President Raisi in a helicopter crash, firebrand populist leader and member of the Dutch governing coalition Geert Wilders took a different line today.

In a series of retweets on X (below), Wilders made his displeasure with the European Union's friendly gestures when he called their assisting of the rescue efforts "solidarity with evil" and said that their condolences to Iran for his death were "Not in My Name!"

Wilders clarified in a pinned tweet that he wishes Iran to become a "secular state" again as opposed to the current "oppressive and barbaric" Iranian regime.
