In the Qatari Al-Araby Al-Jadeed newspaper, Egyptian sources reported that the army in the northern Sinai is on full alert as part of a plan to deal with an Israeli entry into the Gaza city of Rafah.
According to an Egyptian source, the increase in alertness since Monday came after negotiations related to Israel's military operation. He noted that the IDF launched airstrikes in several areas near the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, with the relevant authorities in Egypt notified beforehand.
According to the report, the American administration agreed to the plan presented by the Israeli government in exchange for Israel's promises to forego a large-scale attack on Iran.
He noted that the Israeli plan relies on dividing Rafah into numbered squares, which will cause displaced individuals to evacuate in the direction of the Gazan cities of Khan Yunis and Al-Morsi.
The source also pointed out that as part of Egyptian preparations, the absorption capacity of refugee camps in Khan Yunis run by the Egyptian Red Crescent was increased, including the scope of the aid that has entered in coordination with Israel.
