Breitbart News quoted the intelligence news agency Semafor as saying that the FBI has issued a warrant for the arrest of 41-year-old Majid Dastjani Farahani, believed to be an Iranian agent directly linked to the Islamic Republic's regime.

The outlet reported that Farahani and his associates are targeting former Trump White House officials such as Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo and Special Advisor on Iran, Brian Hook.

Hook told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday that he requires a security detail due to Iranian threats to assassinate him in revenge for the Trump-directed airstrike that killed Quds Force leader, Qassem Soleimani in 2020.

“I wish we were in a place that it was not necessary, but that is where we are,” he said.

In 2022, the US foiled an IRGC plan to assassinate Trump's former National Security Adviser John Bolton. One of the Iranian agents posed as a journalist covering Bolton while trying to collect information on him.
