Antisemitism on the rise:
Labour removes candidate who accused Israel of Oct. 7 massacre
Azhar Ali was slated to run on the Labour Party slate in the Rochdale district.

Ahzar Ali, a candidate of the Labour Party from the Rochdale district of northern England, was expelled from his party yesterday (Monday) after claiming that the US had warned Israel the day before the October 7th massacre.
According to a recording published by the Mail on Sunday, Ali added that Israel, "deliberately lowered security at the border" in order to allow itself to "do whatever they bloody want."
A spokesman for the party reacted sharply to the alleged statement, saying: "We understand that these are highly unusual circumstances but it is vital that any candidate put forward by Labour fully represents its aims and values."
"Since the deadline has passed, we will not be able to present another candidate in Ali's place," he added.
Ali's dismissal comes after he apologized, calling his statement, "deeply offensive, ignorant, and false."
