Another disaster in Japan: a plane with at least 300 passengers went up in flames today (Tuesday) on the runway at Haneda Airport in Tokyo. The current event comes a day after the severe earthquake that occurred in northern Japan, which caused the death of at least 48 people.
According to reports in the local media in Japan, the plane that exploded belonged to the national airline company "Japan Airlines", which landed in Tokyo after a flight from Hokkaido Prefecture. Apparently, the fire broke out after the plane collided with another National Coast Guard plane.
At this stage it is not clear whether the plane, which was recorded catching fire and completely burned, was evacuated of the hundreds of passengers and crew members before the explosion. Following the serious accident, the airport was temporarily closed, and all flights were postponed until further notice.
