The head of the opposition, MK Yair Lapid, spoke with the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, and met with the National Security Adviser at the beginning of his visit to Germany. Lapid claimed that economic pressure on Hamas will lead to the release of the abductees. "The billions that flow into Hamas accounts are used for murder and terrorism, financial pressure on Hamas will also lead to progress in the negotiations for the release of the abductees."

After a lengthy conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the subject of efforts to recover the abductees and the continuation of the fighting against Hamas, opposition leader Yair Lapid recently met with the German National Security Advisor, Jens Plötner, in Berlin, Germany. The two discussed efforts to create an international coalition that would cut off Hamas from its economic sources.

The meeting is taking place as part of a political visit by opposition leader Lapid to Germany, during which he will meet with German President Frank Steinmeier, Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and Finance Minister Christian Lindner.

At the meeting, Lapid said: "Hamas is a murderous terrorist organization that exists from economic capital with international aid. The road to the overthrow of Hamas rule is through a strong military move and also an economic collapse that will lead to the release of the abductees. The billions that flow into Hamas accounts are used for murder and terrorism, the world cannot close its eyes. Whoever finances terrorism - has blood on his hands."
