After this morning (Sunday) British and Israeli ships were attacked in the Red Sea by the Houthis in Yemen, the Yemeni army issued an official statement and warned: "As long as the aggression in Gaza continues - Yemen will prevent the passage of Israeli ships."
"With the elections of the Palestinian people and their proud resistance. This morning the naval forces of the Yemeni army, with the help of Almighty God, carried out the targeting operation against two Israeli ships in Bab al-Mandab, namely the ship "Unity Explorer" and the ship "Number Nine". The first ship was targeted with a naval missile and the other ship with a naval drone," they wrote.
"The targeting operation came after both ships rejected warning messages from Yemeni naval forces. Yemen's armed forces continue to prevent Israeli ships from navigating the Red and Arabian seas until the Israeli aggression against our stalwart brothers in the Gaza Strip ceases."
The armed forces of Yemen renew their warning to all Israeli ships or those connected to the Israelis, that they will become a legitimate target if they violate what is stated in this statement and in previous statements issued by the Yemeni army."
As a reminder, this morning, the British Navy's Trade Management Department (UKMTO) announced an incident that occurred this morning in which an unmanned aerial vehicle flew over naval vessels in the Bab al-Mandab area of the Red Sea. According to reports, the UAV attacked a vessel in the area.
