The Crossing is Closed: a Vehicle Exploded at the Border Between the US and Canada

A loud explosion was heard on a bridge near Niagara Falls between Canada and the USA, after a vehicle exploded at the border crossing between the countries. An investigation was opened to find out the circumstances of the incident, and the border was closed to traffic.

A loud explosion was heard today (Wednesday) near the "Rainbow" bridge at the entrance to Niagara Falls on the border between Canada and the USA. According to the initial reports, a vehicle exploded at the border crossing.

The FBI said that an investigation was opened to find out the circumstances of the incident. Following the explosion, the border crossings between the US and Canada were temporarily closed to traffic.

New York State Governor Kathy Hochul later said that she was informed about the incident, and is activating police forces and local authorities to assist in the area.
