Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met today (Thursday) with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who arrived for a visit in support of Israel. Following their joint meeting, both leaders made statements to the media.

"I want to thank you for your unwavering support for us since the beginning of the war. Your visit to Israel speaks volumes," said Netanyahu. "The fact that you've come to Israel now is highly appreciated. Just two days ago, Chancellor Scholz said that Hamas is the new Nazis, and he is right. You fought the Nazis eighty years ago, and this is how we need to fight now and defeat Hamas."

According to him, "This is Israel's and the modern world's battle for our future. There are the evil forces of Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, and others who want to drag us back to the Stone Age and war, versus humanity that wants to progress in the world. We must free the captives, understand that there are children, women, Holocaust survivors, and more, and we need to work together in every possible way.

"Eighty years ago, the diverse world stood alongside Britain in its most challenging hour. This is Israel's and the world's most challenging hour. We want to stand together, and we want to win together. It will be a long battle, and we will need ongoing support, but I have never seen the people of Israel more united than today."

Sunak: "We want you to win"

Sunak responded, "In the past two weeks, Israel has gone through something no country should ever experience. We witnessed scenes that deeply shocked us. We support Israel's right to defend itself and ensure the long-term security of its citizens. I know that, unlike Hamas terrorists, you take every step to avoid harming civilians."

"The scenes we witnessed in recent days are shocking, especially in the hospital, and we know that the Palestinian people are also victims of Hamas's aggression," Sunak emphasized. "For this reason, I appreciate the decision to maintain humanitarian aid channels."

In conclusion, Sunak said, "We are happy to stand by your side during your most challenging times and show solidarity. We want you to prevail."
