The Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research published an extensive survey today (Thursday) conducted in May regarding Palestinian attitudes towards the war.

The survey, which included 1,570 respondents, half from Judea and Samaria and half from the Gaza Strip, showed that most believe Hamas was right to start the war, will win the war, and will continue to rule the Gaza Strip after the war.

Fully 73%, the highest number recorded since the war began, believe that Hamas was right to launch October 7. 96% of those who did not watch October 7 footage deny Hamas committed war crimes, while 54% continue to deny this even after watching the footage.

79% believe Hamas will win the war, and 61% prefer that Hamas continue to rule in the Gaza Strip after the war (71% in Judea and Samaria and 46% in the Gaza Strip).

If elections were held between Abu Mazen and Ismail Haniyeh, the former would get just 5% and Haniyeh would get 46%. 46% said they wouldn't even vote. 17% would support Fatah in the elections and 41% would support Hamas.

Just 32% support a two-state solution. 52% prefer a continued armed struggle as the way to establish a Palestinian state.
